ModuleX® was selected for the newly opened Baumkuchen Factory in La Collina Omihachiman, where you can feel the blessings of wind, soil, sun, and water.
In the facility, the store, café, and factory are all connected as a single space via a tour corridor. In designing the lighting plan for this facility, which is affected by natural light, we were asked to mitigate the difference in brightness between the outdoor and indoor areas, facilitate the traffic flow of people, and create a relaxed ambience for the store and café, while giving the factory a disciplined, hard-working atmosphere.
In order to realize these requests, we used our original Lighting Modulation in Viewing Angle Range® lighting design method to examine where and how much light was needed within each space. We also used our original Lighting Naturalization® and Spectrum Design® lighting design methods to create a lighting plan, after conducting multiple reviews.
To achieve an indoor space environment that blends in with natural light, we chose to use suspended lighting fixtures, each consisting of three lights with different color spectrums, as well as line-type lighting fixtures that allow spectrum control.
We also selected our original ModuleX®︎ Controls lighting environment control technology to use a program that detects the weather and adjusts the difference in brightness between outdoor and indoor areas in conjunction with the time of day. By controlling the lights like this, we have achieved an optimum balance of brightness, illumination, and spectrums within the store area.
As a way of facilitating the flow of people around the counter and café seats, our custom-made MOTIF BESPOKE pendant lights were installed for operation using ModuleX® Controls to dimly illuminate when the seats are empty and clearly brighten when the seats are in use, thereby making it easier for customers to find empty seats in the café.
By controlling the lights inside the store to create an environment appropriate for the day and time, we were able to create a space that not only welcomes the customers into the store and smoothly guides them to their desired locations to do whatever they want, but also leaves a lasting impression on the customers.
