ModuleX® was selected for Taneya, a traditional Japanese confectionery, in the Hanshin Department Store Umeda Main Store.

We were requested to create a lighting plan that would make the store's presentation stand out from those of the neighboring tenants, utilizing the store's black interior design.

The surrounding environment features the strong brightness from many shops to attract customers' attention, which is a practice often seen in the food sections of department stores in Japan.
In order to make a clear distinction from other tenants, we focused on developing a plan with well-balanced brightness and illumination for the store design of Taneya, which uses shiny blackened steel plates as a key interior material.

By using Lighting Modulation in Viewing Angle Range®, our original lighting design technique, we studied where and how much lighting energy was needed within the store space. We then devised a lighting plan that highlights only the products displayed in the showcases and the decorative boxes on the walls, giving the space a tranquil atmosphere and a pleasant contrast to the other shops in the same area.
