ModuleX® has been used in the MUSTARD™ HOTEL SHIMOKITAZAWA,
which has been launched with the concept of “adding fresh spice
to the holy ground of subcultures, where unique and colorful
groups come together, Shimokitazawa.”

We were asked to create a lighting plan suitable for a hotel that adds a
secret ingredient to the town and demonstrates merits commensurate
with the charm and features of the town. A hotel that is not just a place
to stay, but a place from where guests can enjoy the town.

The building achieves harmony with the residences around it and
extends from a single-story entrance area to a two-story
accommodation area. Using our original Lighting Modulation in Viewing
Angle Range® lighting design method, we carried out a lighting plan that
unifies the outside wood deck area and inside entrance area, and blends
the building into its surroundings.

To ensure guests' comfort throughout their stay, we used our
proprietary lighting environment control technology, ModuleX® Controls,
to achieve the optimum balance of brightness and illumination
throughout the various periods of the day.

To prevent uncomfortable brightness in guest rooms, by using only
a small number of downlights and bedside bracket lights equipped with
glare control from our original optical control technology, through
a simple approach that suits the interior design of the rooms,
we created a space where customers can relax at length, in comfort.
