ModuleX® has been utilized at Hyundai Customer Experience Center,
Yokohama, which was Hyundai Mobility Japan's first directly managed
location in Japan.
This facility not only serves as a complex facility in which customers can
experience all that our client has to offer, including a showroom for
electric vehicles and hydrogen-electric cars, a lounge, maintenance and
customer service area and a space to hold a ceremony to mark the
purchase of a new car, but also includes an area for training
professional Hyundai maintenance staff. We were asked to carry out a
lighting plan suited to each of these spaces.
Because the first-floor reception area and showroom have glass
facades on all sides, while considering the effects of natural light,
using our original Lighting Modulation in Viewing Angle Range® lighting
design method, we fine-tuned the balance of brightness and
illumination. We used ceiling light-curtain lighting to control the volume
of brightness. This allowed us to highlight the impressive sense of
volume and silhouettes of the cars on display, while creating an
atmosphere of openness and comfort.
In the car handover area, to have customers who purchase a car create
a key memory of their first meeting with their brand new car,
an emotional handover ceremony is held that includes the use of an
L-shaped video system (width = 5472 + 4030 mm, height = 2304 mm)
that shows short movies of the world offered by each car model.
To create immersive effects from the mix of video and radiated light,
using our lighting environment control technology, ModuleX® Controls,
we configured three versions of the ceremony.
In the second-floor sales area and cafe lounge, while considering the
psychological impact on users via their vision, and controlling the
brightness of the space, we used the Lighting Modulation in Viewing
Angle Range® to create a lighting plan that allows users of the space
to fully relax.
From the perspective of effective use of energy centered on design,
as well as the energy balance of viewing angle range, together with
Time Sequence Design® that controls the balance of brightness and
illumination amid seasonal changes and the passage of time throughout
the day, we achieved a space with excellent energy efficiency, comfort
and usability that contributes to the creation of Hyundai's brand identity.
