Moriki Paper Company specializes in washi (traditional Japanese paper),
handling a variety of washi products from all over Japan.
For its gallery, it chose ModuleX®️ lighting.
Since the tables are used for workshops as well as for checking
products, we wanted to ensure suitable lighting for both functions.
It was also vital to let people appreciate the quality of
washi through direct contact with the material. Our lighting scheme
therefore features soft gradations of light to harmonize with the
natural light that shines through the washi paper.
To minimize the presence of lighting fixtures in the minimalist space,
we opted to use our smallest ModuleX®️60. Combining our glare-limiting
optical control technology with our original ModuleX®️ Filter Lighting®️
design method, we were able to illuminate the space in a way that gives
full play to the expressive beauty of the washi used on walls and
for other interior finishes. At the same time, the lighting fixtures
are virtually invisible.
Using our original ModuleX®️Controls technology to control the lighting
environment, we created a space that looks and feels comfortable at
any hour. During the day, soft light penetrates the washi paper,
enveloping the space, but even at night, the mood of the lighting seems
to remain organically connected to the tranquil air of the daytime.
