The Horiuchi Fruit Farm store at Tokyo Solamachi (Tokyo Skytree)
features ModuleX® lighting.
Horiuchi Fruit Farm is a shop where we can enjoy seasonal fruits at
its best time. It is owned and operated by an orchard in Yoshino,
Nara that has been in business for six generation from the Meiji period.
To express the store’s concept of “the simplicity and honesty of
using fruits in their natural state as ingredients,” perforated metal
serves as a simple and clean design element and principal material
of the interior design.
In our lighting plan, we set out to satisfy the client’s requirement that
the ceiling surface evoke the holes of perforated metal.
Using our original NEO DOWNLIGHT mounting system for the ceiling,
we came up with an illumination design that conjures the image of
perforated metal holes, to create a sense of simplicity and
unity throughout the space.
A feature of NEO DOWNLIGHT is the ability to irradiate lights from up
to three lighting fixtures from a single round aperture.
Using it with our original ModuleX® Filter Lighting® design method
allowed us to optimize brightness both on vertical and tabletop surfaces
with soft light, to produce a space in which customers can enjoy
the fresh and juicy expression of fruits.
