Four Nines Ginza Flagship Store

When Four Nines’ flagship store in Ginza was relocated,
ModuleX® lighting was chosen for the store’s illumination.

This project called for a lighting environment to satisfy two conflicting
lighting requirements in a single, undivided space–functional lighting
for the purpose of ordering prescription eyeglasses and tranquil lighting
befitting the high-quality space of a Ginza flagship store,
which even features a private salon.

To address these requirements, we used our original Spectrum Lighting
Design® method to divide up the lighting spectrum according to the
function of the space.

For the store’s products, we focused on a spectrum that highlights the
color and shape of frames and facilitates the process of selecting
spectacles. On the other hand, for the space as a whole, we aimed for a
warm spectrum that allows customers to relax comfortably in a calm
interior. Like this, despite the divergent objectives, our lighting
scheme gave a harmonious, consistent feeling to the entire store space.

To give the store’s exterior a unified look across its three floors,
we used ModuleX®︎ Prism Platform®︎ linear lights, which use reflectors to
control light distribution after dark. These lights illuminate the face
of the building with soft and beautiful gradations of light from bottom
to top, creating a very different luminous balance to the daytime,
when the building is lit by natural light.
